The following rules will be enforced in the For Sale section:

Post Heading:

• Clearly state what item is for sale, i.e. wheels, tyres, car, engine, etc.
• It should state the car it is intended for, if applicable.
• It should state any technical information required, i.e. 205/45/17

Post Body:

This should contain the following information at least:

• Item name.
• Item description.
• Item technical information.
• Item condition.
• Item age.
• Reason for sale.
• Item price.
• Location.
• Delivery/Collect arrangements.
• Contact information – Telephone, E-mail, etc.
• A picture, if possible.

Users with...

Less than 50 posts:

Any user with less than 50 posts will not be allowed to sell or swop items in the For Sale section. This is to try and stop fly-by-nighters who do nothing but use the forum as an alternative to Junkmail or Autotrader...

Less than 500 posts:

Any users with less than 500 posts will not be allowed to ask for offers for what they are selling, they will have to give a price they are looking for. This is to protect buyers, mainly newer users on the forum, from being ripped off by someone because they have no idea of a fair price for something...

Selling on Behalf Of:

Only valid VWCSA Members will be allowed to sell on behalf of a family member, friend, colleague or someone they know. This is to avoid issues we have experienced in the past with "unknown" forum users selling on behalf of other people. By only allowing valid VWCSA Members to do this, we ensure that we have valid contact details and ID numbers of the "seller" responsible for the sale on the forum, should there be an issue. Previous VWCSA Members may just provide ID number and contact details to comm or ask comm if they have the relevant information on file.


General Rules:

- No off-topic comments or posts which includes but is not limited to the following:
• Posts regarding how nice or rubbish you think the item is;
• Posts regarding the price or negotiating a price.
• Posts that are not constructive will be removed without prior warning. If the user has a trend of posting non-constructive posts, they may be informed by the moderators for doing so. If the trend continues an issuing of a warning may ensue.
- No selling of pirated, copy-righted, protected or illegally copied items will be tolerated;
- No selling of pornographic or pornographic related items will be tolerated;
- No Commercial sales are allowed in this section, this section is intended for private sales only;
- You are allowed to post if you require more information about the item;
- Please be as descriptive about your item for sale as possible to prevent confusion;
- Please have the courtesy to update your thread with new information or if it has been sold;

- The For Sale section is for use only by private individuals selling goods that are either second hand, used on your own car and now being sold or goods that were bought with the intention of being used and are now being sold. - Automated deleting of posts will now take place for all posts that are inactive for a period of at least 30 days...

I also feel it's tooooo moderated, but agree with the highlighted items by Arbee and the suggestions by Twins.

It would be nice to have almost a Gumtree like look where you post a pic and have sort of a template to fill in so that everyone knows what to put into an advertisement.
