Folding mirror mod

So after a bit of research, it seems can I can actually get away with this mod, my car has electric seats with memory, has the parking feature and I also found that my side mirrors have the power fold engine, so have ordered myself the window and mirror switch with the power folding button

I will need to code to enable this feature once the switch arrives.

How did you figure out that your car has the power fold motors in them? Did you take the mirrors apart? I cant see my motors at all .

A friend of mine has power folding on his E90 and we opened the mirror caps and compared the contents and wiring, exactly the same as mine, unless we missed something, but i guess i find out and confirm for sure once my order arrives.

Hope your correct! Would be awesome to see if you really did have the motors in there .

When I take my mirror caps off , All i see is the wires for the mirror motor adjustment and the mirror heater .

The motor for the mirror is inside that hinge sort of swivel thing , I think the wire goes directly from there into the arm and into the door .

You should take your door pad of and see if the wires coming out from the mirror area matches those of your friends car .

But then again you already ordered the part ,so instead of doing all that , better to wait and see if it works or not after you have connected the new switches .

I'm surprised that BMW would have those motors in there without having the button or option of even using them , they are very expensive replacement parts .
