Replace Z4 rear view mirror

Hi Everyone,

My rear view mirror seems to have an issue with the blue liquid leaking but not yet out of the mirror. Does anyone know how to replace the mirror or know of someone can replace it for me?

I have found a good second hand mirror but not sure where to start with this one.

I imported a new replacement glass from mirror john in the UK for my ex z4m which also had the blue liquid leaking on the original mirror. had to strip it and unsolder the old mirror glass , solder the new glass on. then put it all back together and fit it in the car.

since you have a second hand mirror, it should be as simple has removing the old mirror and just put in the new one. no stripping and soldering required.

Here's a video i found that should show you how to take out the mirror and install the new one.

its pretty easy to change, E85/86 Z4s were plagued with this issue.
on my 1st z4 i got an E87 1 series mirror, the shape is different but fits the mounting bracket perfectly.

I may need to do the same. Turns out that the second hand one I was looking at is not the oval shape that I prefer. Thank you for the info, really appreacite it.

Do you have any issues with visibility with the slightly wider mirror? I read that the bigger mirror causes some issues with visibility especially for taller people. Your Z4m looks good in your profile pic. Thanks for the info
