First drive in a Z4M

Today being Eid for muslims, we celebrating with family, friends and some divine foods. However, this Eid just became more special and memorable as I got to drive a friends Z4M. Don't know if he did an exhaust system, but man oh man, what a sound.

The seating position, position and feel of steering, throttle response and yes again that beautiful soundtrack that accompanies your foot travelling further toward the floor is just something I will cherish. The car feels as if it wraps itself around you and responds to every command.

After driving an auto 335 I thought.... hell yeah, auto is the way to go, quicker shifts more time to steer. After driving this Z4M, which has a short shift gearbox as well, my mindset has changed. NOTHING compares to that satisfying and joyful feeling of slapping a car like this into gear and quick shifting again as you watch the revs rise. NO auto will bring more warmth to My heart, smiles to my face or WOO HOO's being voiced on top my lungs, than a performance car in MANUAL.

Sure the auto is faster im gear changes, but I seriously doubt it can be as satisfying or nearly as much fun. Some may think that this is starting to sound like a love affair, and youll be correct in that assumption. I LOVE THIS CAR, and will envy, with the BIGGEST GREEN EYES, every single fanatic who's lucky enough to own one. :)

Brilliant car and made even betterer with the manual gearbox. There is just something about it!
I get the greatest thrill when my manual ends up being quicker in real life situations than its auto counterparts! Love it! and my car pops. so screw 'em all!

oh, and Naturally Aspirated For the motherfather win!!!!!!

This is why I say, driving an ///M is more than just straight line speed. Its an experience.

Nicely said man...

Its not about straight line speed... Its about how you go sideways and the feeling you have while doing so....

Firoze, well worded story there, I also drove a Z4M convertible and when the owner said floor it!...all I can say is wow.. that raspy engine note and the g's pushing you into the seat, such a responsive throttle I was blipping it on the downchanges.. it just kept on picking up speed...intoxicating?..definitely!

here are some pics..

My next car will hopefully be an M.

I have 3 options. Z4M, E46 M3 or E92 M3 V8.
I can't wait for the day to come to make what will probably be THE most difficult motoring related decision in my life.

z4M... Very fast. Nippy. Only two seater.

e46M.. just as fast, RAW, can fit people in back... did I say RAW.

e92M... Faster at higher speeds. Refined. v8 noise.

Choose your poison.

That engine is super sweet! One of my favourite car sounds ever! You are very lucky to have driven one. :)

:ty: :inlove: Nicely said, one cannot explain the drive of one of the cars its has to be a first hand thing, its not the fastest out there but you going to have to go far to get the same pleasure. :joy: I luv mine and the wife has insisted I never get rid of her.

I don't fit in any form of roadster, being 6ft9. Whether its a Z4, SLK, TT.

The closest I've been to experience this car is the e46 M, but that was SMG. That was an awesome drive, and an awesome sounding car. I can only imagine the feeling of having all that BMW //M Magic under a manual gearbox!

//M's are Godlike! :praise: And that is a gorgeous Z4//M

Driven both the M3 as well as the Z4m, must completely agreed with your write up. So far no other cars come close.
Even the 135i was boring.
