All i can say is WOW!!!!! what a difference guys...seriously if anyone haven't done it yet then DO IT!!!!!
So my before run showed 157kw and now it shows 167kw and 298nm!!!
but the feel of the car and the throttle response and sound is awesome:thumbsup:
Big up to Herman and Rashaad at Zeemax for the help:thumbsup:
@msm...yep ..removed those as well and i should have done it long ago already.
Now when i rev her up and put foot down the wheelspin i get is something i never gotten before; all this alone shows one hell of a improvement.

Did you remove the ones in the headers/branches too?

so euro 330's come with cats in both the headers and section 1 too?

thought that was a usa thing

Sorry for the million q's, but I'm also looking at options for my car:

So did they cut open the standard header, removed the cats and put them back?? Any idea on whether cat foolers were installed or was the car recoded to ignore the cat sensors?

Also, for the other cats in the exhaust, did you put in straight pipes?

Msm I have some e46 catless headers if you interested they bolt strait onto the head all you need is some down pipes to make up the last bit of length too connect to the rest of the exhaust system because they a bit shorter than the cated branches... You can put minicats on the down pipes to fool the ecu

Thanks for the offer. Will let you know in a few weeks (assuming you still have it). I'm busy investigating my options and also looking for a place that will do the work for me.

Well I have not really advertised them yet wanted to get a price on the down pipes so people interested would have an indication of the total cost

I saw another set the other day in a workshop I did not ask if they e46 but they looked the same as mine if mine go I can ask the guy how much he wants for them

Yep they cut it open and put them back also i dont know about the cat foolers but i would think they did that as everything seems to be perfect so far:thumbsup:
And yes i've put in straight pipes in the xhaust a while back.

all modern beemers have cats, including all the diesel models.. removing at least the first cat on your 330d will be the best thing you can do for your turbo..

Thanks for the info dude

I think that's gonna be my first option. Remove the cat from the standard header and also put in straight pipes where the other cats come out from.

Just need to find someone decent in Gauteng that can do this for me at a reasonable price. Maybe I'll start a new thread asking for this info ...

Having a branch will flow way better than gutting your cats thou... Obviously fitting an aftermarket branch would be best but if you keeping stock boxes I don't think you will get a gain from aftermarket branches...

If you fit strait pipes where the other cats were you get a raspy sound like the M3 has if you don't want that you can fit resonators where the cats were... You will not lose performance with a resonator just the noise...

Its not that big off a deal just take it out putting a complete down pipe and exchaust on then get that 330d chipped its freakin awesome power gains from tubo car's 135kw move up to 160kw the 2004 330d 150kw move up to around 175kw and the new e90 and e60 moves too 190kw then you got the big twinscroll 180kw that going 215kw and thats the babe off all.... i had them all except for the last one but coming soon:thumb:

You can also take the turbo diy then take it down to stallion turbo's and get it bigger with the same caseing then you got some serious power looking over 600nm off turque
