Yeah, she's warmed up to the car.
I cannot say that she is wrong though. I did spend more than I should have and everything the new place will need is making me nervous.

Thanks for the welcome all. :=):

StifflerPE, will let you know, but I hardly ever go to PE. I've only been there twice, as far as I can remember. I really like the way the black wheels looks with your red car by the way.

The family is near Cape Town and in Gauteng, so that's usually where we go.

Have a good week all.

Hi all,

Trust you are well :)

It's been a while since my last visit and I thought I'd check in.
Things have been crazy busy at work the past couple of weeks and even more so at home, with the new house. Settling in nicely though.

Everyone who said that my car's grille is not original was correct. I've been in contact with the previous owner and he confirmed that the grille was changed as he preferred the new one. He even sent me the black grille. He said that he had forgotten about the swap and therefore didn't think to give me the old grille when I fetched the car. I must say that I agree that the car looks better with the grille it currently has on.

Anyway, I still love the car, but the lights are not growing on me. I really like the new 1 series lights and I am starting to consider my options. I might look at trading the car a bit later in the year or early next year. I just need to get over all of the expenses with the new house first. It will probably be a smaller engine car though. I'm not sure I can stretch to the price of the new 120d. It would be nice to have a newer car with more toys and better looking lights though. Time will tell.

All he best.

And just like that my car was sold today.
I got an offer from a colleague for nearly R20k more than I paid for it, so I accepted it. I figured that a opportunity like that would probably not come along again. Granted, I did seem to get the car for a good price to begin with. He's been telling me that he wants to buy the car from me since the first day I went to work with it. I never really took it seriously, but on Friday he came to me with the offer. He sold his car last week. The money was paid into my account today and I've settled the bank, so it's done and I'm without a car again. :hammerhead:

I'm not sure what I'll get next. We've just moved into our first own house, so perhaps I'll get something a bit cheaper and dump the money I save into the bond. Otherwise, I'll see what I can get for around R300k. Luckily the GF and I can get by with one car for a while now that we live in George.

Thanks.
Been on here for a while though.
I just don't get time to visit as often as I like.
Doing some research on possible replacements for my car. Work can wait today.
