Fair Selling Price

Hi Everyone,

I am hoping that I could tap into some of your fair and honest opinions regarding my car.

At present I am driving a 2011 e90 320i manual with 92 000 km's on the clock. The car is driving great and I have had the valve stem seals done and know that the clutch was replaced less than 2 years ago under MP. I have been offered a low mileage 2013 X1 and considering selling my car. I have spoken to a couple of dealerships but it is clear that they are trying to make good profit on a car that won't be difficult to move. My question really is what do you think would be a fair price to sell at. The car also has a transferable warranty that is valid until June next year.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi there,

The market has moved away from manuals, so I assume that this car, as clean as it is, may be more difficult to sell than an auto.

Also, 320i E90 autos are in the majority in the used market, so this makes selling a manual one a bit more niche.

My guesstimate would be R80k-100k, for a quick sale. Maybe a bit more, if you are willing to wait for the perfect private buyer.

As a side comment, I struggled to sell my 2010 A 4 1.8T B8 Manual for a decent price, even though it was well specced. I was told that manual German sedans just don't have a market anymore.

Hey bud,

I would say you can sell it fairly quickly for R120k on a pvt sale given that those available online have higher mileage and dealers are looking for approx R140k.

i have seen some decent M Sports got for around R120k/R130K

I am going to guess that you would probably be able to move it pretty quickly for between R100K and R120K
