Hi gents.

Calling in fellow S55 owners. Have any of you fitted drop in air filters on your cars? Looking at BMC or K&N.

Would like to know if it is worth it. Are there any noticeable power gains and sound enhancements.

Thanks!

Hard to say, after the remap I'm just trying to keep it in a straight line. Turbo spool is louder, but it won't be as loud as cone intakes because of how the airbox is designed.

I wanted to go with the intakes in the grill, but water and internals don't mix. This was also relatively affordable (I believe this and the S55 uses the same filters)

Word of caution.

My car does not like any oil on the foam filters, it sucks it right through. I had to wash the boxes, clean the filters and clean the maf's after it was spitting codes the whole weekend.

Bmc filters. Zero difference. Dyno results proved it.
This is with power under 550whp. Might make a difference and higher power levels.

If the twerker filters can't suspend the oil it supposed to use as an additional filter medium and just let's it through then what use is it against dust and debris?

Shade cloth in your choice of colour from builders should do a better trick!

Gains with drop in filters are minimal. Maybe 1-2 kw. Only advantage is that they are washable and last longer.
