Owners words:

I passed 2,000km and am now officially out of break in!

Launch control does work

DSC off
Then S3

Starts at 3K rpm
Cruise control speed stalk allows you to increase or decrease the launch rpm

I just ran out of "legal" road to reach 280.
Had to slow down a bit.

It is much faster than the 1M and M3. To the M6, this car was no drama, just LAUNCH!
I thought I will hear wheel spin but it just jumped. This will help if anyone wants to test side by side.

I will look at how to give my F80 to a friend in order to race my E90.

My passenger was intoxicated with the sound.
He also has a love for BMWs and said that he loves the sound so much.
It is more of an intake noise.
Also, when lowering the windows and shifting at redline it burps. Brrrrrt
I love it.

E90 M3 I still love you, but torque is something new to the M3.
When i drove the 1M for the first time, it always was faster on a day to day at low rpms

Will update once the VBOX is awake again!!!

Sigh... BMW lost the plot...

At least we know that with all the JB4 mods on the N54 and N55. There will be tonnes more power to get from this S55 engine.

I have just lost all respect for BMW modern engineering.

All the more reason to stick to pre-2004.

^ Sounds like we are moving from coding to jailbraking your new BMW to be more....how do I put this....more like BMW used to be.

Someone smart should now be writing a complete after market OS for these new cars. I don't mean coding, I mean a whole new engine management & iDrive package together as one install. :fencelook:

Augmented acoustics my ass

But still, F80 : :praise:

The guys overseas have tried already but it interferes with the radio everytime im sure eventually theyll find a way around it , something im also interested in seeing is wholl be the first person to fit the turbos from the new m3/m4 to the 335i

Why bother with the BMW turbos from the f80 when a pair of RB turbos will sustain 24 psi down to 18 at gear change...

Plenty power there...I already foresee a few m3 drivers getting torn a new one by some M135s and 335s and 135s already...

So 5 things:

1. Not sure what everybody expected in terms of performance, I expected this performance and its very quick even short shifting first gear.

2. All car companies are doing the sound through stereo system, they have to due to the higher insulation from the external world.

3. An M is not made for only straight line racing (I sound like a stuck record), the motor is going to be brilliant for track racing and due to its lightweight the car will be light years ahead of any non M car (M Performance included). If you have been following the interviews they have had with M engineers on this car, it truly is a step forward for M.

4. BMW power.
