Hi Guys

I noticed that my front tyres ( outside ) is alot more worn out than the center or the inside, BMW said I need to replace the tyres,

Is this normal for the F30 or should i be looking at the alignment ?

Hi There

TWT did my wheel alignment some time back and they set the front wheels on a positive camper for handling and even tire wear. BMW re-did the alignment and pointed out the camber was out of spec and would have caused uneven tire wear.

Is 2.5 not a little too much?

Front 2.2 bar -225/19
Rear 2.4 bar -255/19

My apologies for hijacking the thread.

This is what JSN have recommended me when I bought the 335i from them. I have never had issues . In fact my Fronts are still original and on 70k kms already (due for replacement now) I also run 3.0 on the rears. Each to their own these are the pressures that work for me. Just got down to the coast and no issues for me, I am pleased with the Bridgestone tyres!

HI There

The Potenza's have been good to me, only on the front, sadly I have my 3rd set on the rears with only 50000km.

I keep the rear at 2.4 and go up to 2.6 depending on load.

That's great mileage on your tyres, I am also happy with the bridgestones, I have done 70K on my front tyres and i think i can push out another 5k km from it if it wasnt for the outersides.

Going to replace mt fronts this week

The Bridgestones (S001)are excellent, but priced ridiculously high. They are much louder than the other brands but i still love them.

I thought the F30's were just loud in general.

Indeed I think if one gets between 50-70k from the fronts it is good. Anything between 20-50k on the rears also depending on how one drives. I have been taking it easy lately so things last hehe.

One should play with the pressures to see what works. But sidewall wear does tell me the fronts are a bit under inflated. The rears always wear on the inside sidewall thread due to the negative camber but the fronts should not.

My mate got a set Contis on his F30, the car feels softer and smoother. He replaced all 4 Bridgestones and he is much happier now.

Agree, tire pressure has to be adjusted to ones needs and the roads we drive on.

Front 2.4 /Rear 2.6 - should be perfect.

Latest prices I have R8k for 2 fronts BTW. This is with Mintys Sandton. BMW was around R8.5k for them.

I doubt you will get them cheaper in Jhb, I can get the for around R3750ea in Vereeniging.
