Hi All,

Just got my car back from diagnostics today was looking for a place to source me some shocks (i need 4).

I phoned Supaquick in Umhlanga and they say that there will only be shocks in the next 3 months for the car,
Next i went to Goldwagen and got a quote from them but will have to wait till the parts come in next week sometime - gotta put down a deposit

Wanted to know if there are other places in Durban that i can try?
Looking to got Monroe, Bilstein or Koni

Not that keen on paying the quoted 27k i got from the dealership

It's for a 2012 320i f30

When I needed shocks - I went with Bilstein. But this was on my E92 (no EDC). Did some reading up and was also advised by Goldwagen to take the Bilsteins. Royal Vulcanizing had then fitted this for me.

I'm not sure how the F30 works here but I believe that your 'settings' (dampening?) adjust the stiffness of your ride via the shocks?

I think the trim (baseline, modern, sportline, M etc) make a difference here in the shocks that you're gonna need - which will obvio govern the price.

I'd say just go with Goldwagen since they'll be getting stock and I've never had an issue with their pricing

R27k for shocks for a F30 320i?

A 7 series will probably cost R80k going by that figure. :fencelook:

I got the shocks from goldwagen in Pinetown and got it fitted at bluff tyres in pinetown.

Came to about 4000+ for everything

@cutmanC40 - i had to replace it at about 85 000KM in that range cant remember the exact mileage, will have to see if the invoices state mileage on them to get you the exact figure. The car is on 94600+KM

@r0ckf1re - the brand is Sachs

Just done a trip from Durban - Cape Town and the shocks handled everything pretty well, on the trip I hit 1 pothole and 1 temporary speedbump at some speed... That gave me the fright of my life and everything is still going pretty well.

Plan is to go with coilovers once the current set has to be replaced seeing that the roads in Cape Town aren't as bad as the roads in Durban
