F30: Replace headlights with face-lift version

Has anybody locally tried doing this?
Is it plug and play?
I have seen articles on international forums that indicated it required a special harness and coding. Is this perhaps true for us in SA as well?

Also seen a few international forums. Looks quite complicated and expensive just for headlights/taillights.

If you have the xenons, I wouldnt do it. Xenons still look real nice, dont need to move to LED's in the LCI one.
If you have halogens though, then I sympathize. Im in the same boat with my halogens in my F20. It seems to definitely be a huge mission at a big expense, I wouldnt do it.. unless I had upward of R40k lying around to do it through a BMW dealership.

If you have halogens, you could just try replacing the yellow kak bulbs with crisp white ones. I did that, and the car already looks 100x better

I saw the LCI F30 and was also thinking about this.. It will probably be quite costly though and its not that different really...But I still want it :roflol:

:crazylaugh: To be honest, it takes me a second look sometimes to even notice when an LCI F30 comes past me. Guys, the Xenons are prime still

I'm no expert, but you'll probably find that its a lot more complex than plug and play. Different wattages, etc. Ask a dealer what is required maybe

I would be too, I actually need a replacement as my passenger side light cover is cracked, apparently its not part of the Motor Plan so I need to find a replacement elsewhere or buy a new one from BMW. :hammerhead:
