How's the performance on the 320d f30?

What's considered a good deal on the f30? I'm looking for 328 I

have drove the 320d and 328i both 8 speed auto.
was very impressed with the 320d as well as he 328i,but i would go for the 320d,lots of torque and light on diesel, and sorry but manual gearbox,R18000 is a lot o money.(imo)

was actually looking at a base model,320d,manual,white whit pdc and hi-fi sound as options, came to R401000,but the dealer never got back to me so decided to just let it go,and carry on with my e90 323i exclusive

I drove both on Saturday, but my mistake was to drive the 328 first and wow....
Drove the 320d and didn't enjoy the power like the 328, so I'm a little stuffed since I was planning on buying the diesel and now I'm not sure if thats a good ideas for me

I am TOTALLY inlove with the 320d. and I can afford paying R6k a month, but for now the responcible thing to do is to pay off the E46 first. It's only got 112k km's on the clock, and if its paid off, I can look at something else, or use the monthly installment I am saving to quickly settle a few other accounts. :dunno:

Ag... but how I crave to drive a new car...

It would be nice if they kept me informed and explained what the delay is. Now I have to find it for myself on the website.

Law is yours also rescheduled?

Yes, twice since last week. I was really unhappy to see the new eta for my car had changed to the 4th May over the weekend. Checked again last might and now it is the 26th of April. These date changes are driving me crazy :(

Looking at the garanteed future value , its seems to be quite low ?

how are the resales of BMW in general ?

i got a good deal on a 328 F30 and loaded alot of extra's on it, but will the extra's help in the resale ?

I think as every guy in here knows, every once in a while a guy gets an itching in his behind to drive something else...

I am for sure going to keep my E46, and pay it off, and after that... well, will have to wait and see... :dunno:

In my opinion, the money spent on extras initially is not really taken into account when it comes to selling the vehicle. I too opted for a lot of extras and justified the initial expense and associated depreciation against the enjoyment factor.

Anyone else have an opinion on how the amount spent on extras vs. the vehicle value depreciates over time and does this differ if selling to a garage vs. private sale?

Cars sell on age, base spec and km's....

Put 40k worth of extra's on it, and you have wasted 40k, you will not get that money back, unless you look at selling it privately and you can convince the guy otherwise, and some guys will pay more for a car that has got nav in it, but not a dealer, or not even close to what its worth.

If you do need to spec the vehicle, try going for one of the option packages, because in the auto dealers book you have.

2010 BMW E90 320i Price X
2010 BMW E90 320i sportspack Price Y.

The auto dealer book does list some extra's, but pretty much the trade wipes it butt on those...

I know this from my Fully speced W203 Merc, Nav, PDC, Light Sensor, Rain Sensor, Onboard kitten holder, the works.... what did I get for it, Trade price of a normal 2005 W203 with X km's on it.

Damn petrivanzyl, that sucks. The last time I spoke to the dealership they said there were issues with securing enough engines as they are used across several models. Perhaps this the reason for the additional delay your side?

Holding thumbs for both of us ;)

delay in engines, then why didnt they delay the launch untill they had enough stock

this is bad for bmw.

go in and tell them you want to cancell as you are going to look at a different brand,eg merc and that you will never drive a bm again, see what they do

Even the option packages not taken into account. They just look at m&m or transumion book and give you what's there minus xxx for condition, mileage etc. Apparently I you have m sport pack you may get 5-8k extra of the car is immaculate. It's robbery. So extras don't count but the enjoyment from it will outweigh sacrificed future trade value. A car is a depreciating asset with an intangible return. How much you spend now on a car should be a function of the value you place on the intangible factor, for us fanatics that's the utter joy of motoring. So I will within reason and with due regard to financial planning sacrifice other luxuries and drive the car I want. Extras and all. Remember, dont buy car for resale. Plan for the lost value and enjoy the open road.

That is just on! Most of us here on the forum are waiting in anticipation to see your new car and we are feeling down!

Can't imagine how disappointed you must be! 10/05 is quite a while longer to wait after your already long wait!

Well, on the positive side - the longer he wait, the greater the feeling on the day it arrives!

Seen one already driving around in Durbanville. Saw one on the N1 the other day, but most likely a test drive from SMG since it was so close...

Just got a call from BMW they say my car has entered production today and production should be done by 21st!!!!!!! They not 100% sure exactly when I can get it but I checked on the website and the date is now 25/04.

Yay!!!:joy:

Apparently they first produced the 328s and 335s on order before the 320d production started:nonono:
