So I took the 320d on a 3200KM roadtrip and I have the following to report:
After 1150KM of solid driving (about 10 hours) having only stopped a bit to stretch legs, get food/fuel etc.. I noted that the temp started to raise slightly above the 100 deg it usually sits at (I guess to about 105) and it fell down to 100 again when the sun set.. After 1350KM and 4 provinces later the temp remained normal the rest of the 1850KMs
Avg consumption was 6.1 l/100km over the total KMs keeping the car in Eco Pro and poping it into Sport to overtake etc.. I filled up when I reached just under half tank as I hate running with low fuel though.
The F30 grips like hell on a gravel road doing 100-120.. Overtaking on sopping wet roads were also a breeze at speed the car is well balanced! The only issue is overtalking at slower speeds on wet roads then the tail kicks out.. Our national roads are in a horrid state in general.. I had to swerve for so many tarmac bulges which would have ripped the IC clean off..
I dropped something on the driver's side footwell and when I eventually decided to look for it the next day I noted that there was corrosion on the seat's metal frame.. I know this was an issue in the US but seems like we have it too. So my fellow F30 owners please check yours as well! The 12v adapter on the rear centre console also stopped working after the trip - nothing was plugged in?
Just thought I'd share my observations.. All things considered I love my F30 and my decision to buy a diesel
