technical F30 LCi LED Headlights

Has anyone tried doing this?

I find that the LED lights on my F30 don't throw as far as the xenons on my X3, unless I turn on high beam (which I tend to use whenever there is no oncoming traffic). I had the same issue on my Tiguan as well as my W205 C-Class, not sure if this the norm with LED lights?

Same boat - been threatening for weeks to adjust mine too. I also find the LED is throwing it too close to the car. And with the current situation of load shedding (no street lights) and potholes I need t see a little further ahead.

Guys just take note, The LED headlights are not meant to be adjusted unless something changed or broke.
They have auto leveling sensors on the front and rear which will auto level itself.

I had this issue until i went and had a look at the sensors. They were not fitted correctly after my springs was fitted, the arms was in the opposite position. This could be the case in your cars if you ever had suspension work done (Control arms, Shocks ect)

That being said if that checks out, BMW have a service for the headlight adjustments. Its about R1000 were they will reset it according to spec.

Hi @KarshS , thanks for the feedback. From what I saw on another video on YouTube, the sensors are only fitted to vehicles that have Adaptive LED lights.

They are on both LED and Adaptive LED cars.. had this issue on mine, fault came up as headlight level sensor malfunction or something similar.

The difference as far as I am aware is that adaptive LEDs will constantly adjust for reach angle etc. where the LEDs will do a single calibration for vehicle load, ride height on startup only etc.

My car has the LED lights. When you start the car they move up and down and then settle. I think it's a self leveling system. I set them up slightly and now have much better visibility at night. There is an adjustment screw. Wish I had done this sooner!

The leveling sensor is conected on the left front suspension. Somtimes when the change a control arm or shock they flip the little arm the wrong side and this will cause the self leveling not to work. Every BMW I have owned I adjusted a bit higher(vertical adjustment)because it just shines like 10m infront of you(leave the horizontal adjustment alone for they are usually correct). Park infront of a wall or garage about 5m away and adjust it about the hight of your headlights. Then go drive it and if its still to low or to high just tweak it.
