F30 Exhaust options...?

So this is what the car looks like if you got yourself an M-Sport version of anything less than the 335...(see below)

Does anyone have some ideas regarding the exhaust / tip?

I was considering having it blacked out or finding something slightly more aggressive. Was hoping to get a single slightly wider akrapovic tip instead of what they have on there...no go there...

Most guys go for dual exhaust mods, but it's a bit overboard imho.

I'd rather hide or cover the pipe with a down angle; filling the hole in the diffuser...

also in the same debate myself .. picked up a 320i M-Sport yesterday .. shocked at how small and out of place the single tip looks .. i seen some posts on overseas forums of changing to the M Performance diffuser, which looks great .. and doing a double pipe exhaust like the 328i, with bigger tips ..
this is easy to obtain .. but .. what about motorplan .... :bangdesk:

Problem with dual pipes is a box change, which is more than just an aesthetic modification, which would quite correctly void MP...

Surely there must be some aftermarket single pipe tips or alternatives?

NEXT!

Perhaps something a little more aggressive:

I've got a OE 328i f30 box with twin pipes in the garage. Maybe ask bmw sa if you can fit this without affecting mp?

No performance exhaust for 320 so will also have to get permission from bmw sa to fit 328 performance exhaust.

rather spend 13k on the carbon spoiler, mirrors, and grills ....

will check up with the dealership on fitting the 328 exhaust .. i think they are different size tube .. 320 - 2.5" .. 328 - 3" ..

Take out the original box fit an aftermarket one with the tip you want and just swop when you want to send the car for service. Fit a flange with a bolt and nut just before the box so this can be done easily.
Speak to the guys from Powerpipes, they good with exhausts.

2 problems regarding the exhaust ...
1 .. the 320i doesnt have a join section on the exhaust ..
2 .. upon speaking to bmw Cedar Isle .. any modifications to the exhaust needs to be approved and fitted by bmw in order to keep motor plan in place ....

from what ive seen, looks to be a 1 box exhaust ( rear box ) and i think car has 2 cats ...

so next step would be to see if changing the tip to maybe a 90mm or so single tip, slashed cut end .. and will have to have bmw fit this ... :fencelook:

After all this, I reckon just find a blacked out tip. On the M-sport rear diffuser you won;t really notice a blacked out tip, as much as you do with the shiny chrome contrast against the black... Maybe I'll just let the diesel sudd cake on and never clean it...problem solved.

do you guys think the m perf exhaust is worth it for that price? most people say there is not much of a diff from stk?

the performance exhaust is the only one that will keep ur mp .. thinking about just changing the tip .. well if they approve it .. will give feed back once i know ..

Hi guys...I have recently purchased a 328i M sport F30. i am also considering upgrading my exhaust system - BMW quoted approximately 15K. I would just like to enquire about the power gain associated with such an upgrade apart from better looking exhaust tips and engine sound???

im sure there def is a slight power gain .. and better throttle response from the car breathing better .. just not sure on the exact figures .. a full aftermarket exhaust would cost around 5-6k .. decat also .. but there goes mp ..
would love to decat mine :(
