Hi Guys.
I used to have Good-Year 225 /45 /18 on my F30 320d.
Thanks to the non spare wheel policy, after a meeting with a pothole I had to buy a Continental.
Put it at the front with a Good-Year. Nothing special to mention.
To get matching pairs, I replaced a second Good-Year by an other Continental, and fitted the two new Continental at the back, as they are now the newer tires.
Now the ESP kicks in in every curve taken at ~100 km +. the Cruise control hesitates and cuts off in curves too.
The car is like a soap in a bath, except if I put it in "sport mode" which disable the ESP.
Then all is fine again.
BMW tells me that the behaviour is due to the different brand. - BMW fitted the Continental and did not warn me...-
I find a the pill a little difficult to digest.
I would have accepted that the Continental would be inferior to the Good -Year, but they say it is not the case. Just the different thread is sufficient!
Anyone had such experience before?
I want to try and swap the tyres -put the Conti at the front and the Good-year at the back and see...will let you know.
X.
