F30 335i out of plan?

Hey guys

I still have some time before my car goes out of plan but have been toying with the idea of maybe keeping my 335i even when the plan ends.

Is there anyone on the forum who has a F30 335i out of plan? Is it worth it?

Regarding the F30 shape and the N55 motor, what are the main things to look out for in terms of maintenance? What are the weak points of the car?

Obviously when it comes to modding a car should I ever go that route, lifespan on parts will shorten.

N55 could have the following issues in the next 100k:
1. PCV valve
2. HPFP
3. Injectors
4. Waterpump
5. Control arms

I'd say that if these were replaced during motorplan, you should be good.

Other than the above - there not too many 'regular' things that go wrong.

Services every 10000km will ensure some good service from it.

Hmm good question, I am rethinking my situation too.. Want a M but rather planning on giving the 335i to the SO when paid off instead of trading on a M.. This is probably what I will do so also keen to know what could go wrong with it..

Basically what I'm considering. But I want to keep the 335i as my weekend car. Buy a suv for the mrs and maybe a double cab for me.

I would also love a M but considering paying off the 335i and modding slightly. Then doing the odd track day etc with the car.

These are quite costly, R60k minimum for these but at the stealership.

My motorplan expires in a few days and I am little nervous, but from my own research, the N55 is quite reliable, sure we could have the boost solenoid and even turbo break but I honestly have not seen too many of these break.

Keep a close I on every shudder, noise and abnormality and take your car back to get these fixed before you hit expiry. Unfortunately the stealerships only fix/replace some stuff after complaints. Motorplan is merely meant to get you through 100k so dealers are not inclined to do proper preventative maintenance or fix something that is not causing visible issues.

Considering the prices of the M3 and other cars, I intend keeping 'the Hulk' for a long long time.

True bud. Prices of cars are getting crazy.

Will keep an eye on things with the car and see how it goes. Really enjoy the 335i. Would be never say no to a M though hahaha
