I wanted to post this in the F30 or 335i forum but i saw that i could not insert pictures.

Yesterday I went for a drive, and decided to push the car a bit. I did a pull in third gear, and just as the car got into boost, the car started to cut out and I got the drive train error and the car went into limb mode. I immediately stopped and found a code for cylinder 1 misfire, injection switched off. I cleared the codes and carefully home. The car idles fine and does fine when driving calmly. Decided to switch Coils but the issue stayed the same on cyl1. I then switched the spark plug to cyl2 and the misfire followed to cyl 2 with the same code. I'm guessing its time for new spark plugs?

I might go with NGK 1 step colder as im on an MHD stage 1 tune

I had that a bit over a year ago. Except my car didnt throw a code or go into limp mode. The guys at Xflow did the 1 step colder plugs. I also asked for new coils. Been running a hybrid turbo, E15 since with no issues. Also N55 PWG.

Might not be a bad idea to get some new coils myself aswell. These are still the original coils the car came out with from factory, after 150 000kms.

Yeah dude, those will be getting tired but great to change as preventative measure.
I had NGK 2 step colder plugs and it worked wonders on my N55 PWG, Stage 2

I thought of getting the NGK SILZKBR8D8S 1 step colder plugs, which is probably fine for my stage 1?

Yep it is for sure
I was super scared at first because before the misfire codes I had a Super-knocking code on cyl 6, but when i removed all the spark plugs, i probably put cyl 6 plug into number 1. When i logged the car yesterday wyen the misfire codes came, i had no timing cor on 6 or any other cyls expect for 1. And then i switched the plug to cyl 2 and the miss followed. At first i thought i had a bad injector, but from what i heard, the n55 has quite decent injectors and they last a while?

Yeah you right but thankfully I didnt have any of these issues on my car, I had it from 80k - 125k. Owner post me didnt have any of these issues except waterpump failed, battery needed. However coils, plugs and electrics were fine, XFLow and Xcede always checked my out whenever it got to them on the wear and tear items and they were fine. I ran E10 in every second tank and on fun days I would run E30 and the fuel pumps held fine. You not going through bearings or anything and these are expected issues, long term ownership and higher mileage

My car has never given me this issue before, i did however just hit 150 000kms haha. Still on original waterpump and performing excellent. Only mishap i had was a bad alternator which probably happened because of a bad belt which i never noticed for a while. Other than that, just normal maintenance. Although these spark plugs only have 20 000kms on them, I'm sure they should have lasted longer, even if I'm tuned? Could i possibly leave you my number, it seems you have far more knowledge than me, I'm still learning new things on this forum everyday haha.

I believe heat damages them which will be higher when tuned. Doesnt look like you have an intercooler upgrade. I have a 7.5-inch VRSF installed which has made quite a difference with consistency. When Xcede did my tune on E15, they did back-to-back runs with zero timing pull. The stock intercooler is shared with the N20 if not mistaken, i would get rid of it. A 5-inch stepped one or some alibaba one would be already an upgrade over stock.

Yeah I was thinking of getting a nice 5 inch intercooler, the 7.5 is too expensive for me. The stock intercooler will probably have to go.
