F30 330d extreme eggy smell from exhaust

Foul eggy smell is the cat but then again, these cars can do a regen when you drive it hard and clear it up and it will be fine again. Report it anyway to the dealer and let them have a look and when motorplan is done, remove it and get a downpipe fitted.No issues or gremlins again except torque gremlins ha ha ha!

Thanks a lot Ash. I was under the impression that local 330ds do not do a regeneration? Is that correct? Nonetheless I will take it to the dealer soon.
I have been schooled about the mechanical and power benefits of getting a downpipe and maybe after MP expires I will go for it.

Yeah dude, I was also under the impression of that however all my diesels had their DPFs get clogged and immediately i removed them. best decision ever!

Hi fanatics. I took the car to bmw to address the terrible eggy smell that came from the exhaust. They said they checked the exhaust system and even the injectors if they were not leaking. They said everything is fine and suspected a poor batch of fuel that I might have used. The car actually did it once so I really don't know. What do you ladies and gentlemen think?

Thanks Lebofa. I was really concerned by this. I will avoid that filling station in the future.
