F30 328i - Driver aids holding back performance

Hi guys,

Picked up my 328i two weeks ago & absolutely loving the car, big difference to my e90 320i.

When driving spiritedly I change driving mode to sport+ & hold the traction button down until it says ASC off. The car still feels held back especially when snap shifting into 2nd gear, power transfer is not direct & feels like it stalls to avoid spinning. I also find this when launching the car from a standstill.

Not sure if I'm missing something on the settings, please advise.

When you put the car in sport+ and then push the trac button it knocks it out of sport +. You can hold the button in and turn off the driver aids, although then your accelerator will be in comfort. Sport+ is its own setting. That's why your pedal doesn't seem as responsive.

Is it a manual or Auto ?

If u snap shifting, Im assuming manual.

Do not snap shift, what u feeling is the CDV to protect the box.

Keep the car in Sport+ with box in Sport. Drifting is not that easy with all these aids, but pure power over does the trick if you want to have some fun in the corners. :coolShake:

For straigth line speed keep it in Sport

Ok cool. Best not to snap change bud, smooth change into 2nd and you wont get the have the CDV kick in.

Have you checked the flux capacitor?

He should possibly just pop around to M & J Fox motors to have it checked out.

Yeah, that ^^

I test drove a f30 328 manual a couple of weeks ago and really didnt like the "bog" you get on snap changes. It is much better when you change with some finesse and getting it sideways was pretty easy when on the power

Well to be fair, going to anything after an e90 320i would be a big difference. I know a guy who sold his 320i and just sat in his couch all day watching the weather channel, and could not believe how much more exciting his life got. True story.

Imagine the adrenaline if he sold an E39 540i and sat on his couch

The fact that you would be able to sell it should give you some kind of rush :roflol::roflol::biglol:
