F30 320i Tyre wear

Hi, I am driving a 2013 320i Sport Auto. At 15000km I have noticed that both rear tyres are worn out badly in the middle part of the tyre. Took it to tiger wheel for an alignment check, they found that the alignment was out and could only adjust the toe. They advised me to take it to BMW for adjusting the camber. The service adviser at BMW told me that this happened due to uneven tyre pressure. The tyre pressure was always checked correctly and so far the car is driven on tarmac only. Anyway BMW did the alignment and I am closely watching further wear. What could be the cause of this? Any comments?

Make sure that once you set your tyre pressure at the filling station you go into the idrive system under vehicle information and click the 'confirm tyre pressure' option to ensure that the car alerts you to any change in pressure thereafter. This way you will know immediately if there is any deviation in tyre pressure and you can avoid abnormal tyre wear.

If you a have any hassles please let me know, we can chat on the phone or you can come past and see me and I will show you how it works in your cabby.

Filling station gauges are always damaged because they are not handled with care. Buy a tyre pressure gauge and use it when you pump at the filling station or anywhere for that matter. Also remember check tyre pressure when they are cold. Nitreogen keeps a more constant pressure in tempreture variations that's why we use it on our aircraft

the money invested in a decent tyre pressure monitor will pay itself off very quickly.

I normally check my tyres while cold at home, I note the readings and then when at the garage, try my best to even it out or increase to the level i need it to be.

e.g. if i check the fronts and the left is at 2.2 and right is at 2.3 and i want them to be at 2.4, when i get to the garage, increase the left by .2 and the right by .1. If i really wanted to , i could take the gauge with me to the garage, but i can be lazy.
