Cois , you still paying off your car ? If yes , then you could just trade it in and get this new one , though I'm not a fan , and you wanna wait for the sport pack bud , you a cop , you'd look that much more scary with it .

if me,wouldnt do it,because of the financal crises im at the point where i might be retrenched in the next couple or weeks.
and this isnt just happing where i work ,but at a lt of places

I say check it out properly. I got the same mail on the 320D. That insurance premium after 12months is a bit of a concern for me together with the fact that its the base model. They offer R5199 on the 320D. I pay more than that on my 18 month old E90.

I rather keep my E90 till the F30 is 2-3 years old and then change, should have better specials and trade assist by then.

I say if you can do with it, and dont mind the lack of trade assist, you could have used for the extras and can afford the payment, go for it.

Some folks dont like having car payments, others dont mind having it, each to his own.

But you'd still have an old car with old technology... Where's the fun in that?

As a 2nd car maybe, not as your primary car.

What to do? :hammerhead:

Maybe get someone in the accounting/financial world to explain exactly what you are in for - and understand the black and white of the contract clearly!

To own a brand new BMW is a dream come true for many, and the new shape nogal! I would love to! But have a bond and work for the state who is offering 4.5% increase this year despite the high inflation, petrol and other hikes!

R4 800 may be some money to pay in the first year, but looking at annual increases, bonusses and maybe depositing extra every now and then, it becomes easier in the third year onwards, but check on the contract if you can make extra deposits etc.

If you are just managing the payment each month and know that you are going to wait patiently to pay it off then you may not enjoy the car that much!

Maybe, a nice fully specced E90 6 cylinder would give you the boost you need in terms of really enjoying a car and having much less to worry about in instalments? You'd be paying half that amount!

And, the E90 is a truly beautiful machine that hasn't aged with the introduction of the F30. (imho)

Anyway, good luck on whatever you choose! Life is short - and what we want finds itself to us if we really want it!

Remember the original 3 series ad campaign! I WANT IT BECAUSE I WANT IT!

Yes, but that's like these Citi Golfs that pull up next to me wanting to race. I couldn't be bothered how fast the car is, I'm in a way better car, that's all. It's not all about speed.

I'd take a 2012 320i anyday over an old supercharged e46...

I'm sure there is some residual value/balloon payment on that installement, which appears rather low.

Becarefull guys, read the the finance contract carefully before signing up. You dont want to be stuck with having a balloon payment after 54 months :yuck:
Does not sound rite. I got my x3 at 294k at 11% intrest and over 72months so and my one is R5600 sure there is some balloon payment in there in the fine print. But with the price of fuel now maybe going newer and more efficient is better

well then you like cars for completely different reasons than me... I like them because of how they make me feel when i play with physics... I could not really care about them as status symbols

well if you look at the kw,135 and the e90 lci 323i 140kw then trading in a 323i for it seems logical as you save in fuel.

but i still love the sound of the 6,maybe buy it as a second bmw,but not now

Thats what I love about this forum, some prefer older cars, some newer cars, but in the end we all still family and respect eachother's choices. BMW Fanatics FTMFW:thumbs:

I dont know about that you always lose when you trade you have to save alot of fuel to make up for it and the e90 does not seem to burn much less than the e46 real world...

regardless of the trade, iwas just compareing motors kw,very close to the 323i 135kw versus 140kw.

i think the torque would be higher on he newer car,but they do claim 6,1l per 100km combined where as the 323i is higher.

the eco pro will save you fuel, ive seen that when i test drove the 320d

but i have this thing about a turbo,i dont trust it
