Howsit guys! After seeing some posts, its pretty inconnclusive finding a correct answer. My F30 320d has just come out of bmw warrenty and i have am extended one from motorride. But they never asked for any mods or aftermarket parts. Now im thinking either software or maybe an exhaust module from AC Sneitzer. I know Race Chip claim near 500nm but i dont trust generic stuff. Any input on software and potential gains?? And id only like to map sport mode? So i cam keep comfort and eco mode for day to day use (still loving the 3.8l/100 fuel consumption), please any input or advice!!

Hi Lebofa,

I see in your signature that you also had the PPK kit put on your f30 320d. I did the same and would like to know what your thoughts are on it performance wise? Also, have you done any other mods? Exhaust, other software etc? I read on another forum that someone in Russia? has used the Racechip on top of the PPK and is getting good numbers out of it.

Cheers

Hi Bro, I'm waiting for my MP to expire first then I'll be dancing all the way to xcede. As for the PPK, it was a waste of money because I can not feel the difference between now and before it was installed. Also, a buddy of mine has a 320d without PPK and I can not pull away from him every time we race and he is not a good driver :thumbdo:

I have never tried racechip on this car but have a not so good experience with it on my previous car. Check how many guys are selling their racechips on the forums and that will tell you something about it, and don't buy the stories that they are changing cars or selling their cars, hence the sale. If it works, why not use it on the next car? :roflol:

I've felt an improvement but mainly only in the higher speeds, pulling power is better. Obviously the PPK numbers stated by BMW aren't a huge difference compared with stock but I get what you're saying wrt cost (I've also noticed it being slightly thirstier). Only thing preventing me from going to Xcede is also the MP, mine only expires in 2020. But I'll probably have something else by then!

maybe my car is from the bad batch, I complained to Northcliff auto about the performance or lack of, a while back after the installation of the PPK and they did all sorts of things which included changing all my injectors. High speed, the car is fine, but pulling away from 0 to 120km/h is where I have a problem. Xcede is the way

Please give feedback when you have done the software, there is an f30 330D that they worked on and have very impressive horses. Would love to hear about the f30 320D too

if i was spending that amount of money of PPK, i would be sure to get before and after figures...

Is the racechip a one size fits all setup? I was under the impression that the harness would be different and the software changes from car to car?

Race chip is one size fits All and you are right, if you want to use it on a different car, you will need a new harness and they will also change the software on the old unit. But you still use one unit which can be used on all cars. I used mine on Merc and with the same software on the Toyota Hilux D-4D. I had two different harnesses, if you need more info, please pm me and will send you the contact details of the guys who sold me the chip from PTA
As for the PPK, made a big mistake and have learned from it. Never again
