Hi all,
I'm in the market for an F30. Looking at 320d vs 320i. This isn't a performance or preference question - lord knows there's plenty of those.
What I'm curious about is the potential risks of only travelling short distances, in mostly stop-go traffic.
5 days a week I sit in bumper to bumper traffic for 45mins each way, to and from work. On weekends it's again mostly running around doing errands relatively close to home. I pretty much never get to hypermile my car, let alone open it up.
Is this sort of short distance travel bad for a diesel engine/turbo? I've heard they prefer longer rides?
Side note: my current consumption is sitting at 11.9l/100km in an F20 118i!!! There are A LOT of speedbumps on my journey.
