Hi guys

My uncles F30 320d which has 89000kms on the clock has the Motorplan expiring at the end of May. What are some of the items we can claim for and what should we complain about in order to get them done?

The car has already had lower control arms done and brakes not too long ago.

Thanks in advance.

I was in more or less same predicament, I took the car in for "everything" to be checked in detail. sadly nothing was changed as nothing is due for changing. but atleast I have the piece of mind that it was checked.

BMW won't change components that are working even if you ask for it.
Better get the car inspected independently by a reputable place/workshop esp suspension parts and ask for a report on what's damaged or on its way out
Take it to BMW and you stand a better chance of getting stuff changed. Otherwise if you go to them and say they must change a working thermostat or waterpump they won't cos motorplan does not recognise such things and a whole host of other stuff as service items for routine replacement

good luck:thumbs:

Same story will all other car brands.
They will not replace or fix anything before MP runs out, as long as it falls within their acceptable tolerances for wear and tear.

My Audi TT had a jerky DSG as the car was approaching its final year on plan. Audi just did a reboot of the electronics and the issue came back shortly thereafter. They still said it was not a major issue. Luckily I traded in the car before the MP was up...

Take the car to SMG Umhlanga, chat to Shilesh the workshop foreman before you leave, he will make sure that if anything needs to be changed its get done.

Hi guys

Just an update on this. SMG Umhlanga advised that all was in order and nothing needed to be replaced. :dunnoanymore:

Decided to try another dealership so took it to Supertech Pinetown. So far battery and fanbelt have been replaced and they have applied to Motorplan to replace the catalytic converter which they think may have a blockage.:bravo:

Always worth trying other dealerships when you not happy with the outcome at one.

Assuming its an Auto - take it and have ZF run the diagnostics on the box. If there are issues get BMW to resolve. Once its out of plan - have ZF service the box - oil and filter change and calibration.
