F30 320d 90 battery where to buy it?

Hi guys been a while.

I have a 2013 320d f30 and it has recently started giving me a battery voltage low warning and i had to charge it once because it didn't want to start.

I phoned bmw and they want R5600 for a battery because its agm for stop start even tho I don't use it. It's almost x2 what i paid for my 335i battery I think it's a bit crazy does anyone have a contact that can help me with a bmw 90ah battery for less?

Search for a battery centre in your area and get pricing from them. You should still stick to AGM. I have had 2 friends recently replace batteries on an F25 X3 and E84 X1 with Exide AGM batteries around the R3400 mark.

Battery pricing has gone up significantly over recent months, this is particularly true with the imported batteries (here I can refer to the Varta and Willard AGM batteries). The Randollar comes into play here.

Retail pricing on the 658s is now R5700 odd for Willard and just over R6000 for the Varta.

I have done that but like @Gav@GShift said it's wasn't R3400 prices I got on a Willard agm was the same as bmw. Do you mind asking where they got it for R3400?

Pop around personally to your local Supaquik.
I picked up my Varta 658 Agm for R4000 a few months ago.

Look for an Exide stockist in your area.

They got it at a Battery Centre branch in Durban.

I replaced my battery with a OEM AGM BMW battery from Battery Center for I think around R5,400 earlier this year.

States for F30 but just check the other specs like Amp Hours etc. if suitable for your car.

I found this on takealot for R3100 but it says nothing about amp hour it is a 658 tho

Just remember you will need to register the new battery to the car after it has been fitted. Even if they supply voltage to the vehicle when the taking out the old and refitting the new.

Also remember you get “normal” batteries, which will have EFB or Gel in their name.

The AGM batteries are Absorbed Glass Matt, and their design is quite a bit different to normal batteries. They are significantly more expensive than regular batteries.

The Varta and Willard 658 AGM batteries are approx. R2500 more expensive.

That's an Enhanced flooded battery which is why it's significantly cheaper. In the long run the AGM battery is worth the price as it has a far longer life span.

So got a new exide agm 90ah battery today from battery world and it cost R4299 with a 3 year warranty.
A bit more then I'm use to paying for a car battery but it was done last @57000km 😅 and i recently went over 200000km. So they do last very long it seems. Weirdly my aircon stopped working a few days ago and now it's back to 100% lol. Must have had something to do with the low voltage.

The 320d is great literally the only problem ive had is this and wipers which is a consumable and not technically a issue.
I miss having a fast bmw tho😅
