F30 320 i Vs 320 d

Hi guys

i am looking to trade in my 2012 E90 320i Steptronic, however I am not sure if I should go for the F30 320i or 320D? taking into consideration the price and fuel consumption. the main reason for wanting to change my E90 is due to fuel consumption.

how much better is the Auto F30 320i compared to the E90 320i based on Fuel consumption and how much difference or savings in fuel will there be on a F30 320d vs F30 320i. also how is the F30 320D with a manual gearbox?

the problem is to find a good 320 D at a decent price is becoming difficult what are your thoughts on the one below

My f30 320i averages around 10 litres per 100 in town and 6.5 litres per 100 at 120km/h.

My e90 320d I previously owned, did around 8 litres per 100 in town and 4.8 litres per 100 out of town at 120km/h. Im sure the new f30 320d might be a little better even as the car is a bit lighter.

You will only make up the 30k difference between 320d and 320i after +-100000km.

Having owned 2 E90 320is which drank 2 tanks of fuel a week all I can say is that going the F30 320d route was awesome.. I get roughly 7l/100 in heavy town traffic and then very hard driving through all the twisties on the way home and I always pull away like a BMW should from robots - at full tilt :thumbs: awesome car and awesome consumption but if it's outright performance you are after to tune up later the 320i is the better option.. Ooen road consumption is between 3.8-4.2l/100 depending on road etc.. :rollsmile:
