F25 Msport Staggered Tires

Hi Guys

Regarding the X3 F25 Msport that has the 19 inch staggered tires, i was wondering the following:

1- Has anyone changed to a square setup? If yes were there any issues? would 245/45/19 all round work? would this size fit the rear rim?
2 - Has anyone changed to non runflats? Difference in handling better etc? Ive changed to non runflats on my E90s and made a great difference

Stock size is 245/45-19 front and 275/40-19 rear.
So i was just wondering in order to save some cash, what would the next step be. stick to oem staggered sizes, but non run flats, or one step further and go square setup, but scared it that wont be within sec for the transfer case. Transfer case health being the priority here.

you have to use a circ calculator and it must be within 2% of each other or something.
Try this 1
Something to note is rim width vs tyre width so Flex or Stretch

Hi Bud

I was in the same situation as you a few weeks ago, although my X3 came with the 245/50/18 square setup. I ended up going with non runflats and have no regrets as I did the same on my E90. Ride feels softer to me, handling feels the same.

The only shlep is that I had to source an 18" rim as a spare and put a 245/50/18 tyre on it incase of a puncture and this takes up quite a bit of boot space. I opted for a full size spare as I was also scared of transfer case issues

Things to consider also:
Finding one OEM rim is not easy
Finding a X3 jack is not easy but a bottle jack does tend to work incase of an emergency

I'm not to clued up on tyre specs but wouldn't the 245 tyre stretch on the rear rim?

Reviving an old thread...

I may be getting an M Sport f25 and was hoping people were more adventurous on this thread...

I will be doing some bad roads with it and I don't like slowing down for speedbumps,so with that in mind I want as much sidewall as possible. So what is the absolute maximum tyre size it can take with no rubbing? And is there any minor lifts or spacers that can help(need a new thread for that I guess)
On my f30 I could increase tyres by one profile above OEM. I would like to do the same.

If current:
245/45-19 front and 275/40-19 rear

Then whatabout:
245/50-19 and 265/45-19 or some such.

Its a 2.0d so the wide rears a little useless, first price propably swopping for 18 rims but exploring my options for now

The M sport suspension isn't very soft, so no matter what tyre you fit, you will have to slow down for bumps.... Would rather look for a non M Sport for your requirements.

I have just changed wheels on my F25 to 19s with non runflat Michelin Pilot Sport.
Ride quality has improved even though I am running an aggressive setup with lower profile.
Fronts: 265/40/19
Rears: 295/35/19
Non-runflats with a taller side wall profile might just work out but perhaps consider non msport as well for additional comfort.

I have the 18s available if your interested.

I am fully aware the non M sport will be the better option wrt ride quality. But they dont look that good to me.
Or rather, I know the M-sport shapes age better. If buying non M I will be shopping again within 3 years, with an M I can hold out till my needs change.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

No opinions though on what is maximum profile that can fit, be it on 17 to 19 inchers? I can extrapolate profiles to whatever mags I will be using.

Since the non M-Sport comes with 245/50/18 all around, why don't you just go with the similar set up? Buy the set from Anees and try it out and see if you arehappy with it.

Current plan will be to get those 18 rims and fit 245/55-R18 tyres.
Would have been great though if there was some more experience on this, maybe that will catch but a 235/55 wont, or something like that.

I ran one profile above OEM on my F30 Msport and also do on my current Discovery 4.
