F10 M5 (next M5)

I, like most other V10 owners, was VERY disappointed to hear and read that the next M5 was going to have a modified version of the 4.4l twin turbo engine. Time to look for something else like the Jaguar XFR or even the rumoured 600hp XFR-S.
However it seems as per M5 board.com that salvation is at hand and the new engine WILL be a modified version of the V8 but it has two extra cylinders so should end up as a twin turbo 5.5l V10. Even rumour of a KERS system as part of BMW's efficient dynamics programme. Really do hope that this is true as it will put the M5 back at the top of the performance tree and be a lot harder to knock off. Also takes away the need for silly money 5.7/5.8l stroker conversions at $50k+ although ASR's twin turbo conversion on the 5.0l would be an interesting comparison

I feel that BMW will need to up their game slightly, to compete with the likes of the RS6 etc. They would never let the likes of owdee beat them :)

Well its all going turbo because of the hippies. Then need to get the C02 way down, and turbos allow it to piddle around town and then still have the flexability of power when you need it.
