F10 M Sport: tyre advice

Need some help with deciding on tyres;
bmw 5 series f10 Msport with 19" option wheel

Q: The standard spec tyre is 275 35 19, i want to know if i can fit 275 40 19?

you could fit the 275x40x19..but why would you wanna do that?although there is a 5mill diff between the 2(275x35 vs 275x40)you would notice the profile difference..would rather keep to original spec as the 19msport wheels and the 275x35x19 tyre compliment each other....

only reason is potholes, otherwise i would never consider changing.
@ R4500 a pop, one pothole and the tyre will be stuffed.

i called twt, they said it wont work as it affects the clearance by 23mm and thus will scrape.

so looks like have to get the std 35 profile.

any Tyre brand recommendations?
at the moment i have goodyear excellence which came standard with the vehicle.

35 to 40 isn't actually a 5mm difference.

It's a % figure of the 275.

i have Pirelli P-Zeros on mine...and they have incredible grip,wet or dry..also consider the Michelins..contact Minty's in JHB,i paid R3900x2 for the fronts(245x40x19) and R4100x2 for the rears(275x35x19)..i shopped around and they were about the most reasonable..
