The F10 530d, does it also SUFFER from the dreaded damper pulley like the E90's do?
And is it the same engine that the F30 330d got?

And I was offered R92k for my trade in, it that about right?

Not sure what your current mileage is but you'd always get lowballed on an E series if you trade it in. You'll get quite a bit more for it selling privately.

The engines are similar to be honest, but then again the two cars are worlds apart. Just not sure if the shortfall between the two (I'm guessing around R200k currently) is justification enough.

PM me details on the 330d, let's see.

I would say the E90's had a dampner issue, being a rubber part built to handle alot of torque and vibration from a diesel engine, i would call it a wear an tear item. Infact I would look at the damper pully in any high torque diesel motor.

The initial engine were the same as the E90 Lci, so the same as your car, so maybe check the VIN to be 100%

You've got a very nice car there bud... If it's paid off, rather keep it and save up for the 530d. I'm no expert but R92k sounds low to me from first impressions of your ride.

I would not be put off by mileage. I would pay it off, be somewhat debt free for a year and if necessary, be able to save a deposit bigger than the trade you are being offered.

+1 on the comments above.

The best possible car to own is one that is paid off.

These 330d's have proven to be very reliable, so unless you "need" to buy a new car, dont do it!

I've had that itch to buy a new car for almost 24 months now. My word of advice would be to 1. pay your car off, and 2. start saving for a big fat deposit.

You are in a very fortunate position where your car isn't costing your an arm and leg to maintain, and by putting down a potential larger deposit in the future, you will be in a much better off financial position (less debt, less interest).

Lucky i came upon this, saw a 530d Innovation package with 140000km on the clock for a tad over R210k. No comments, only item is no M-Sport but loaded with all other options. I am looking for a decent 330d/320d Lci preferable and this came up...need it for a daily car. Would this be a good purchase, motorplan history is clean as well, most expensive item changed on the car was brakes and discs at R6k.

Any advice guys?
