Also need to replace mine. Seems to be a common issue with the f10.

put in lowered springs... :roflol:

I tried to compress the current spring, but it seemed to have a negative effect on my teeth

Suppose its agents then.....

Hi, jokes aside: this is actually a dangerous situation. If you have children, who are smaller, the boot can smack them in the face if you're not careful.

Problem:
Hydraulic struts wear out over time on affected models (F10, 11, 12, 18 and F01 7 series)

Solution:
Purchase new strut spring combinations from dealership, about R900 ea. or from Aliexpress, like i did, for about R900 for both. Amazon sells them too.

R561 ea from Amazon

R282 ea from Ali

Note: cheaper ones work well, but could be slightly noisier while opening.

I replaced mine a few months back with OEM parts from the dealer. Its a pretty simple job to do.

So i ordered the boot springs on Friday afternoon from BMW here in East London. The price was not bad at all. They first wanted R1762.00 and after a bit of negotiating they dropped it to R1500. Not a bad discount for agents.
