Exhaust shops JHB vs's Durban

To the DBN guys i really envy you owe's. You guys can get a full free flow exhaust system for a 4 door ///M3 for eg done for under 3k at primaforce and the likes.

In jhb the prices are through the roof:nonono:

I'm with you. Locally made downpipes are the same as branded products oversea's.....

I'm all for supporting local is Leka, but hate knowing that we getting ripped off.
Bought my cousin downpipes for his gti earlier this year, they are 3x the length of the ones on my car and were 2k, the equivalent for my car is 5k and over

its all about volume... the Jig takes up space and costs money to make... if we get volume up prices can come down :)

If you want to fit a 3K performance pipe to a M3, you should not be driving a M3... or maybe just leave the original equipment on it, because the original is 1 million times better then that cheap noise box will ever be.

On the other hand, it is a well known fact that we get ripped off on aftermarket parts... but it’s all relative.

anyone can crush bend a system for 3k but does it work or just make noise?

Im not sure whether its crushed bends or mandrel bends. Will be interesting to find out. Primaforce is owned by one of the guys that worked for Doug Wallace so its quality stuff! and heard alot of good things about them.

its all volume... with sooo many guys modding VWs development costs are a non issue on them so prices can go lower...

same problem with imported items volume makes things cheaper :)

3k is very low... if its crush bent it belongs in a bin not an M car... i would have serious doubts as to how they can make a proper system for that and still turn a profit... unless they just trying the grab market share... the major cost on exhaust is development work and labour...

Sure thing, but it seems a bit cheap though, has anybody you know fit one of these to a M3, pictures & sound clips maybe??

In 2008 i did a full exhaust mandrel bent including a 76mm downpipe on Astra Coupe for +/- 3k at wildcat in Edenvale. They are now charging the opel guys 5.5k plus for the same system :nonono:

This is something we must see dude, try and upload it again...

Average price for a M3 pipe is probably 12K, depending what M3 it is of course.. so spending 1200 bucks on fuel to save 7K would be well worth it...

Of course my calculation above is BS without the fact, but I can see it being a similar scenario.

Mandrel bends or crushed bends can be done...
It is not owned by anyone that worked for Douggie, You are referring to Brian from Flowtech who worked for Doug Wallace, Brian at Primaforce is a diff person but is well clued and experienced in exhaust building

12k is a bit much in my opinion 6-7k for a tested quality system is worth it to me...

I got my system for 4k its mandrel bent but after doing it I asked the guy what he would charge the next guy and he said 6k... it was alot more work than he expected...
