Hiring a track for a full track day is north of 80k.
Odi is 20k for 400m and 1000m. And their timing is crap. Its far. Tarlton is over 60k for a pvt event. We have to cover costs somehow. Unless our advertisers chip in and we have a 100% attendance it's going to be a challenge.
Im not saying we cannot attend other clubs events as BMWFANATICS. I have been arranging that. We got discounted rates for the vwclub track day. So far, 1 (one) person has registered afaik.

Even though the lunch/braai is planned a few days before and the cars and coffees can be planned weeks in advance.
The other thing is also the availability of people and i know our events team try their best to accommodate as many people as possible but realistically its difficult.
maybe another approach might be to get a better idea of who would prefer to attend the different events on which days?
We might find that breakfast runs on Sundays might/might not work for many, saturdays is better. Ice cream meets better on fridays and cars and coffee on saturday/sunday.
Am i pulling at straws?

No no, we get together somewhere and wash our own cars. A sort of mini-detail day. We get to share car care tips, for inside and out, get a look at how anal others are about keeping their cars clean, see the lengths some go through to get a perfect shine, etc etc etc.
The ONLY problem I see with this... Is location.
Unless someone knows someone who knows someone with a carwash that will allow us to make use of their facilities.

There are a few guys on here that are also members there,so maybe we can piggy back off them and them us? A dual marketing strategy?
I like Chef's idea of the car wash day. I live in a complex and have to get my car washed at a normal car wash, which I am NOT happy about,so I am up for this, just need to get my polisher up from Cape Town.
As far a private track day,I was at the Lotus day at Zwartkops on Sunday, it was brilliant.

To successfully have 2 or more events on a weekend we need more coordinators willing to do the job.

Actually i was implying that there should be a poll to identify which days suit more people for specific events, not have more than event over a weekend.
Although i think the poll thing has been done, and the figures from the poll dont reflect on the day...:thumbdo:
