Estoril Blue II comments

Hi,

What do guys think of this colour over white. I know white is a low maintenance colour in terms of concealing general scratches, polish rings, water stains/streaks and stone chips.

Is EBII high maintenance like black?

Does not attract as much dust as black does
Not as high maintenance as black but def more than white

I disagree, my e46 Estoril Blue 325i is easier to keep clean than my alpine white 1-er.

Black in winter is just not worthwhile washing compared to white. The only downside of white are the stubborn black marks.

Do you guys think the colour will fade?

I only own my car for 5 months
I would think that with good maintenance, good wax an polish once a month you will not have any issues

I hope SP33DYV will be more helpfull with this question

Blue is power, looks hot when clean, only thing it needs a bath often to keep clean but so do all other cars.

It's become a little common, but at least it's exclusive to MSport models only

So what do you think???

Don't get me wrong. I love the blue but i work in a dusty environment and often do long distance driving. Washing, polishing, etc not an issue.

Just questioning how much visible damage the dust and long distance driving will do to the paint work.

EB 2 is a great color , if it's dirty wash it and if it's got fine swirl marks take it to someone to take out , easy as pie

Well my e46 325i has done over 215 000 km and is easier to keep clean than my Alpine White II 1-er. Insects wash off easier, it doesn't show the dirt and dust as quickly as the 1 and needs less polishing. But it has the original Estoril Blue paint, before they changed to water based painting. And it doesn't show dirt and dust as quickly as the Alpine White does. Just my 2 cents.
It has become a very uhm.., common colour though. Don't know if I would choose it on a new BMW today.

Thanks

What causes those swirls anyway. Is it incorrect polishing or not rinsing off the car properly before washing?

And trust me when I say its easier color match EBII then what white is.

White is one of your trickiest colors, and not even the pearl stuff, there are 186 shades of white, before you get to the metalllics and the pearls.

I've had the Estoril Blue on a previous car and too be honest, you could never see the swirls or marks you see on white or black. It does need to be kept clean to look good but the car would have to have been very dirty to actually notice.

Estoril Blue is the best colour but that depends on the car too..

What car are you getting it for?

So true. I remember now meeting up with Mike (Definitive Detailing) regarding my bumper that was resprayed by... I rather not say who.

Thanks for the remainder.

Looking at the F30 Msport[SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]. Just need to the finalize extras and the colour still.

I only buy vehicles with either full black interior or close to black the rest just gets dirty way to easily and is a mission to keep clean
