Wouldn't it be easier to just stroke it to a 2.7?
Engineering + new pistons etc.

yes it would b more expensive,I currently have thst engine in the car,the m30 but the body needs lots of attention but the e30 ,motor is down

Ive got a spare e34 sump if needs be - just need to confirm which e34 motor you need.

The M30 2800cc produces roughly 110/130Kw
The M20 2300cc produces roughly 110Kw

M30 is heavy and not very rev-able.

you shall have cooling problems and engine mounting problems as well as understeering problems

Fix the m20 it is cheap as chips
