Oddly enough i had this problem in my 200ts.

Fan stayed on regardless of heat etc.

Realised it must have been a airlock keeping the thermostat open.

So.... I ran the car from cold with the cap off the filler bottle until it was hot, then proceeded to fill the system again with the car running, that obviously pushed the airlock out and freed the car of the issue.

Worth a try?

ok heard from bmw, thermostat is being replaced.

how come this has packed up with only 68000km on the car,ive driven golfs with much more kilos on and not even a problem, replaced one on a citi golf at 200 000k m only.

something not right.
has anybody else had this problem?

Probably just unlucky. The thermostat on your car is quite a bit more complex than a golf's, since the BMW's is electronically controlled to maintain higher engine temperature under certain circumstances to improve fuel economy...
