End of Motorplan checks

Hi guys,

Need your advice on how to get the most of my Motorplan as it is ending in Jan 2017.

I drive a 2012 F20 120d. No issues so far and won't be extending the plan.

How would I go about getting BMW to fully check brakes, clutch, shocks, pumps etc at its last service next month.

Would it be worthwhile to get an independent check and report on certain parts?

Thanks!

Best bet is to chat to the workshop manager / DP and try your luck, but I can guarantee you BMW wont fix anything if its not broken.

Yeah, BMW (or rather the Motorplan administrators) are getting really sticky about what gets changed, demanding a lot of proof before approving the claim etc. I had situations where a part has clearly failed, where they required extensive documentation from the dealer before approving.

I'm in a similar position to you with my 120d. I read somewhere that yiu should send your car to AA or something for a FULL check, costs about R2k.

They says it's worth it.

Go to your preferred dealer. Be prepared to leave your car with them for a few days. just tell them you want a front to back check on the car done.

Remember its income to the dealership so they will try and do something for you.
