I have fitted Eisenmann back boxes to my X6 M, but I am now experiencing significant power loss - almost like limp mode -

Any advise will be highly appreciated.

Are you maybe not getting faults because the flaps are disconnected?

We have plunged the pipes for the flaps. If it doesn't improve within the next 100 km (management system might have to re-learn) then I will do a re-map.

Thanks for the input, I will keep you guys posted.

Are the O2 sensors reading normal - this might cause the "limp" mode issue.

No they are not reading normal, but I had the warning light on after I did the downpipes and removed the cat,s but before I fitted the back boxes, and the power was fine

How many KM's between these changes, as they usually take about 200 to 300 KM to adjust the ECU values. Maybe have this checked out as a starting point ... also check that they are plugged into the right banks (I have no idea what it should be on your car, but on a 6 cylinder E46, having them plugged into the wrong banks caused quite a bit of issues).

AFAIK, even an aftermarket ECU will still not work properly if your O2 sensors are not reading correctly.

Please excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by "also check that they are plugged into the right banks (I have no idea what it should be on your car, but on a 6 cylinder E46, having them plugged into the wrong banks caused quite a bit of issues)."

Not sure of the technical terms, but basically on a 6 cylinder, there are 2 sensors on the header (i.e. one per bank). Sometimes when guys work on the headers they switch them around and this causes issues with the ECU.

So basically, just double check that with the guys who worked on your exhaust/downpipes that they put the O2 sensors back in the correct locations.

Maybe someone who is familiar with the exhaust layout on your car can comment.

Thank you for explaining. The downpipes were done about 3 weeks ago, and the car was fine until we installed the back boxes yesterday. We did not touch the downpipes only removed the old back box and installed the new one.
