Economy indicator

Hi guys, have a quick question
I just got my car back from BMW, had it in for a oil service, its a E46 318i
When i checked the economy indicator, it just displays 0.1 L\100km. I drove it yesterday, did not change, and then this morning on my way to work it changed to 0.2. Is that normal after a service?

Thats not right, unless you work like 5 metres from the dealership.

I would suggest you disconnect the battery, and reconnect after 15 minutes. Should clear everything.

It worked for an e46 328i with dodgey clock display.

You should be happy, You are obviously the recipient of a miracle. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Could of course also be that the BMW "specialist engineering technicians" with their policy of "Joy is in the Repair" might have screwed up something and simply broke it.

That is what i am worried about, what if they did break something?
Are they liable for it? Cause it definitely was not like that when i brought it in

Called BMW now, they said i can bring the car in but i will have to pay to check it....is that right?
They did however tell me how to reset that indicator, will try that and see

happened to my E46 as well (and I know of a few others). Turned out the first digit dissapeared. So, it could be the same in your case where your consumption is actually 10.2 L/100Km.

Ok guys, i got it to work:joy:

While the economy indicator is displayed, hold the BC button for about 10 seconds for it to reset, it will then go blank and thats it
It will jump up and down untill it averages out
Oh, and you have to do it while you are driving
