Fellow FANATICS

thanks for the support over the last day or two, it is already making a difference.

A word of embarrassment from my side....our wheel alignment computer software is not set up to accommodate the very latest "F" series of BMW, database is about 4 to 5 years old.

I had already inquired for a software upgrade, and the next database release is only in July

Sorry to hear things are a bit tough at the moment.

I often find myself in a similar position with my business as we have very little savings for when things slow down a bit. so I feel your pain.

I have found that word of mouth advertising works the best for my business, we are advertised on a few of our distributors websites but other than that I dont spend any additional money on advertising. Im not saying that you should follow my advice but hat it works for me. My main issue is getting competent workers who know what they are doing as I am spread so thinly over the workload and that takes more time to complete the jobs and eats at the profits at a huge rate.

I have a saying that I try to live by... mostly  If you keep doing what you are doing then you will keep getting what you got... so maybe try a different approach towards the marketing of your business, you might just find that the marketing you are currently doing isnt doing your business any good.

Ralf, Hope all goes better soon!

Knowing that you where the only place that was willing to look for and get shocks for my old mini is a big plus point. I will put this detail out there for the old mini guys as well. If you can get tyres for the old minis I can pass that on as well.

And then, if you like and all is saved till then, in August we are going to have a 55th birthday bash for the minis, you are welcome to come and show some stuff(obviously mini related new and old) for free.

Then, will you be able to check out a e39 for some error codes?

Hi Ralf,

A query for future work.

Do you do brakes? I saw you mentioned it in your earlier post - however, I am asking can you like re-do brakes?

Reason I ask, is cause in the near future, I will have my Project e30 Bmw mechanically running, then the next challenge would be the brakes.

I modified the car, so its got a old school 327 in it, I had to toss the original brake booster, opted for a smaller booster that could be easily relocated, which has been done.

So What I will need assistanc ewith, is the refurb of the calipers, new discs all round, and most importantly, brake lines, hard and soft.

Can you assist? If so, i would much rather explore using a fellow fanatic than farming it out to someone else...

Please PM me.

I would even go as far as buying the tools and doing it myself, just that my project is 5yrs deep and its time I pull finger, and stop wasting time on it.

There are about 4 tyre shops about a 5 kms radius from me, but i would rather let a fellow fanatic work on my car

I would have came through this Saturday, but im working till 15.00

See you then:thumbs:

Are you open tomorrow?

Yup.....open 1/2 day until about 12AM, the staff "demand" their democratic right to vote, and apparantly asking around the other associated tyre and spares shops in the area, most going to be closed completely, but we cannot afford to loose all this business thru public holidays, so 12Am closing it will be

Thanks squire, I also got your PM and have given it to my floor manager, to follow up on those tyre sizes for the Little Mini's, and when all this public holiday nuisance is over (thursday) will phone the warehouse for pricing on shocks for the classic mini.

We are not really a "refurbishment centre" but more a fitment centre, so we can fit and re-fit parts and components,
So the refurb of the calipers would be outside our line of work and/or ability
replacing new discs all round...no problem, either you provide us with the disks you want, or you allow us to try to source the ones YOU want, or we source whatever is available at the local spares shops.
Brake lines fitting and routing them, no problem, provided either you give us the parts, or we "try" to source the parts availability from the spares shops in the area.
