Early morning frost/mist/fog - windscreen product suggestion ???

Unlike the cities, here in Mpumalanga the early morning frost, mist & fog is extremely thick & dense, especially on the open farm roads now that winter is coming.

Now my car stays outside, NOT the Bmw :) the VW, my daily work car. Last year I struggled badly with winter :shakehead: to begin with, the early morning frost was a mission to get off the windscreen, had to use hot water & a squeegee but that doesn't last long because out on the open road the mist/fog builds up on the windscreen and freezes before the wiper blades can do its job  & dont ever dare use the windscreen washer because that gets frozen as well, then I can't see :jack: & have to pull over to clear all the frost built up ~)

Then theres this other issue, not quite sure what its called but its a fine white blanket that builds up on the windscreen in thick fog & it happens close to lakes & riversides, this is one thing that I can't seem to get rid off !!! I tried everything.... wipers, windscreen washer, demister, open windows & even the aircon..... nothing !!! this only goes away after driving in the sunlight or where the fog isn't so thick.

This year I'm planning ahead :thinker: so far I found driving with yellow sunglasses makes a HUGE difference in the fog but isn't a cure for that white blanket that builds up on the windscreen. I bought that additive you add in the windscreen washer from BMW, prevents the water from freezing..... any products you guys perhaps know of that I can use to cure or lessen my woes :bawling: any suggestion would be appreciated

I wonder if something like C-Thru might help, makes the water bead and roll off the glass, so maybe will also work against mist and frost? Not sure though...

Remove windscreen should solve all of the above...

Cut a potato in half, and then rub it all over the windscreen. When dry, take a clean cloth and buff off. It works better than C-Thru. :fencelook:

Have actually heard about that trick - old trick actually and long before C-Thru, haven't tried it though...

What about keeping it covered. Use an old thick blanket and cover the windscreen. Should keep the frost off.

I had that car cover thingy before, but the wind blows it off & its a pain to foldup & put on again ~) oh and in winter I run from the house straight into the car :)
