Awesome car and thank you for the updates, keep them coming

What diff ratio are you using? Seems quite a bit higher, E34 M5 was doing over 3000rpm at 120...

ps. personal choice, but I think this car would look much better with stock indicators/rear lights, the black cheapens the experience for me

I 100% agree with you that orange indicators front and rear would be much better. I have no idea who thought it would be a great idea to smoke them up, and not even with a laminate film, but bloody spray it. The cost on new lenses are eye watering, but if you know of any used oem ones in good condition, please keep me posted.

If I recall correctly, we fitted a 3.46 Diff. @Peter@AEW can confirm this

It's time to start tackling cosmetics. The interior was the first thing I wanted to get my hands on. With the leatger already deep cleaned in December and loads of dirt removed, I didn't feel the need to repeat the process all over again.

I did, however, use some leather cleaner first to remove any dust and dirt that may have settled since. The leather was feeling a little hard in some places, and whislt nothing was torn, I felt it best to get the leather into better softer condition.

Spoke to @Kyle and he suggested i try out colour lock Old leather softner. Ordered it and arrived in 3 days. Used a sponge pad to dab it and applied as per their video with the instructions saying to knead the leather once applied as well. Once done allow 24 hours for it to cure and absorb.

The second pic has the drivers side done and the passenger seat untouched. The final pic is both front seats treated with 1 coat.

This was done on thursday evening. Will apply 2 more coats and then use Gyeon leather coat to top it off.

Interesting to hear your review on the softener, did it make a noticeable difference?

1st coat, and yes, definitely a difference. The bottom leather was fairly hard and made me nervous, that it might tear. After the first coat and with the kneading, you can feel that ots already much more soft.

I will do a second and third coat as well, but this time using a hair dryer to heat the leather up so pores open. @Kyle has suggested that the above will assist in getting the bottom portion to where it should be.

Not sure if you use to watch "wheeler dealers" but another option is to either put the car in the sun and cover the seats with black dustbin packets or remove the seats and put in the sun (which seems a little safer then using a heat gun) as that will also help open up the leathers pores.

Not sure if you will still need a product like collinite that is a conditioner and sealer

Yes parking in the sun is always the best option, bit unfortunately , i only have time to work on the car in the evenings and ive put a carport at home to block out all the sun

Wont use a heat gun, too risky, wifes hair dryer will be a safer option.

And so this chapter has come to a close.

The car was put up for sale on Friday, and on Saturday, the deposit was paid.

She's going to a good home, and I'm so relieved that it is.

It's been an awesome journey with the car, and she will definitely be sorely missed. It's the 1st car I've sold, where before the owner came to view, I suddenly felt a pit in my stomach. Blessed to have owned one of these beautiful sharks.
