I'm just interested on what local software/chip people have put on their 330i... I don't want to hear anything about its not a turbo blabla. I just want to know what gains and maybe a ruff price.

But its not a turbo:biglol:

You looking at about 3 to 4kw max. Better throttle response.
Anything from R3000 to 5000

Ya ya ya :p

I've read that the throttle response can be increased dramatically actually.
Surely that would result in much better 0-100 times for example?

Try going with a Decat and software together. The car will rev more freely.

Expect to pay some bucks more then R5k less than R10k for maybe 10kw or more. Just guessing here. If you think its worth the price, go for it.

I think thats all you could get out of the engine other than adding a

TURBO

Jus kidding buddy

I dont mind an extra 10kw for the price... I'm just hoping it would kind of transform the car.

Let me be honest here and you be honest as well.

You will feel a change beacuse you know your car.

But and its a Big But

You will want more power as the novelty wears out.......

Speak to the tuners (advertisers) on the forum they will be able to advise you.

Around 5% - 15% max but you will have to spend on hard mods as the other posters have stated.

Think carefully as the need for more power will rear its ugly head. Try and spend some money on suspension upgrades first then play with the power

I mean this isn't expensive and it gives me options.

I would only do software and exhaust... I 'm not interested in racking up the kws, I just want a more responsive feel overall.

A full aftermarket coil over kit would also be a huge +

Has anyone had a full local exhaust put on their 330i?

Would I be able to do the BMS Box and a exhaust without software, or is software a must to take advantage of exhaust?

I also own E90 330i and currently preparing to do E46 M3 headers/branch swap and full decat.. KN filter and CHIP! Thinking also about diff swap... but that is when all my other projects finished :bangdesk:

Do a flash as it will be much better once your exhaust is done. The piggy backs mostly adjust fuel an timing . While a flash can manipulate more tables within your ECU......

Can you tell me who can flash with right maps? Is it done at the dyno?

How much is the e46 Headers/Branch and full decat going to cost you?

I have a guy who I would most likely get my software done with... he specializes in BMW, he did my Fiat Bravo... great results and service.

Branches, freeflow exhaust, software will get you around 5-6wkw if done properly. Its not worth it if you after power.

If you want musical tones and a smoother rev range do it.

Unichip on a e90 330 won't be as rewarding as a flash tune, less parameters to manipulate on the unichip, also the e90 330i has the 3 way intake which gives the car it's torquey feeling, this is controlled by the dme as well...

I know what branches and a good tune coupled with KN filter does, have you seen branches and cats BMW utilized in the 330i ? I have. For a performance motor such as N52, (200kw i consider as performance) its Horrific. Im sure i will get atleast 20hp atw!
Ive seen maxima 3lt NA with well designed branches and exhaust gained 35hp atw and no tune!

I would always go the software route... I like being able to go back and have a few things changed and without having to bypass the ecu.

Would the cost of changing the diff really improve the drive? I have seen a couple people do it on their e46 on this forum.
