E92 M3 - Carbon Kak + Tail light need

Whatever you do ... DO NOT BUY a carbon boot for your E92 M3. I just did. What a waste of my time & disappointment it turned out to be. Plus damaged a tail light in the process. :bangdesk:

Had the carbon boot on for 30 min. Looked so wavy / badly aligned i couldn't keep it on. Performance spoiler going on instead.

On a side note - whilst installing said kak carbon component, fitter chipped a tail light. So i need RHS light that fits on the boot. Anyone? Anyone? Pre-lci.

LESSON LEARNED!!

100% agree with you. My first experience with a large panel that needed to be made proper to fit & look proper. Unlike small spoilers and stuff which you can get away with, a complete boot or bonnet will just show bad manufacturing easily.

Sorry to hear man. But it really depends on the manufacturer of the carbon product.

Where did you get yours from? I just fitted a carbon bootlid to my car , was able to install it by myself and don't have a single issue with it ... It's just a pity that I have to cover that beautiful carbon with paint ...

Will look better painted but that's obviously a personal preference the only large panel I don't mind in carbon is a roof. But that's also hard to see.

Ooh that's not good to hear. But don't be put off. Like someone said above depends on supplier and quality.

You do right by fitting a performance boot spoiler.
Replicas don't have the desired height and manufacturer part costs an arm and a leg but well worth the workmanship .

Got mine on for 2,5 years now- no discolouration and looks beaut

Sorry to say... but that's what happens when you don't purchase from a reputable manufacturer/supplier.

There's just too much cheap, poor quality crap on the market.
