can someone explain why they look like this?

im guessing the idea is to make all the cylinders have the same flow rate?

from what i understand its to keep each "chamber" as such (each length of pipe) the same.
it keeps the back pressure in each cylinder the same.
i could be mistaken.:thinker:

Yes, you want to keep them the same length, else you have different harmonics in the exhaust, which means you cannot really optimize it. This way you can manage the dynamic pressure better, allowing better flow (esp at chosen rpms), and thus more power... It is discussed in that book I sent you IIRC...

lol i have not had time to look at it yet... but im thinking of making some branches with a flow bench so i can get them to have the exact same flow across the cylinders just wanted to make sure my theory is correct :)
