I have the Idrive system in my E92 but only have the aux port, is there any way to retrofit a USB to the system?

Guys, you can both speak to Ratslaaf@OBDWorx (Gert), he's done many retrofits to cars on the forum!

Hey gents,

If your cars are CCC navigation (pre '09) then USB isn't supported by the head unit using BMW equipment. You'll have to then look at something like the grom units to give you that functionality.

Hi Ratslaaf, I have 2007 e92 and would like to know what exactly are 'grom unit's?

The Grom unit gets connected via the cd changer connection so the cd changer does not function anymore. An optic and power supply connection is supplied. Once connected no coding is needed. Connect extension USB cable to Grom unit and then you have usb connecivity. You can connect iphone, android and usb streaming. Bluetooth streaming is optional. To use unit you must select cd changer on idrive
