E91 heavy steering

Hi,

We bought a 320D Auto (E91) to use as a mom's taxi.

The car's steering very heavy compared to my other cars? How can I determine if this is right or normal?

Cheers

WHen you say heavy....do you mean when its turned? under tension?

Like if you are turning into the driveway, it requires some elbow grease?

the other tech guys on here are more in a place to advise, but could be a number of things i think:

1.poorly inflated tyres
2.electric steering wheel fluid (power steering fluid)
3.axle problems (control arm bushings and the like)

if its under MP, take it in to BMW and let them see what the hell is going on. if not, maybe ask one of the fanatics to check it for you on the next breakfast run?

What other cars do you have? BMWs give a little more feedback than some other cars, so it will be a little heavier, but you will get used to it very quickly.

Thanks for the replies.

The front tyres are virtually new - Pressures seem OK.

Most noticeble when driving slow in driveway or when parking, much heavier than what I'm used too.

As per my signature

Maybe I should take another 320D for a drive
