With the amount of torque the 330d develops I suggest to change not only engine but gearbox as well!

Don't forget the wiring loom and ECUs

did this on a e46 320d to 330d, and it was honestly just not worth it..

if you want to have it 100% OEM, there is hundreds of little bits and pieces you will come across that needs to be changed,
if its a hackjob, the car will have no resale value afterwards..

only viable reason i can see for doing this , is if you are building a track car or such..
a modern BMW is just a too intricate machine to make this type of swop an option.. 99% of the time it is easier to just sell the 320d and buy a 330d..

just my 2c ofc..

Yep, going to be loads more practical in the long run to trade in for a 330d than trying to transplant etc...

Do you get E91 330D in SA?

Simple and easy: NO

If you REALLY wanna do it then try and get an accidental car best with a rear accident and do a transplant!

Now....

To the nay sayers... shush.

While I agree completly with netercol, there is an alternative.

If you buy a rear end/side smash E90 330d, transplant is simple and you can keep it oem.

Still going to cost 60k though for the wreck.

and another 10k to fit.

at 70k, its not worth it...

And if u ever decide to sell or trade in, you'll be lucky to get close to 60% the value of a normal 320d, which is close to another R70k that you throw away...
